Portako is easily reached by car from London and the M25/M23.

From the M25
Come off the M25 at Junction 8. At the roundabout, follow signs for the A217 to London, Sutton and Kingston. Continue along this road for 2.8 miles until you reach another roundabout where you should take the 2nd exit towards Tadworth (B2220).

After 0.6 miles, turn right at the traffic lights into Station Approach (B290). Follow this road as it bends round first to the right (passing Tadworth railway station on your left) and then round to the left, after which the road becomes Ashurst Road.  Continue downhill for another 0.4 miles crossing a mini roundabout at the bottom. At the Murco garage, turn right into Preston Lane.

Take the second left off Preston Lane into Waterfield. After about 0.2 miles you will see the Epsom Downs Metro Centre on your left. Portako is number 3 (Furlong House).

From London
Take the A3 out of London until you see signs for ‘Tolworth Junction’ and the A240 to Kingston, Epsom, Reigate and Sutton. Take the slip road off the dual carriageway and then the second left at the roundabout onto the Ewell bypass (A240).

Continue on the A240 for 4.5 miles passing through several sets of traffic lights.  At the 2nd roundabout turn left (1st exit signed A240 and M25) onto the Reigate Road.  Pass the NESCOT college on your left and straight on at the next roundabout until you go under a railway bridge.  Take the second right onto Fir Tree Road at the traffic lights (Drift Bridge junction). At the next roundabout, take the 2nd left onto Old London Road (signed ‘Tadworth’). Then you will reach another roundabout (on Epsom Downs) where you take the first exit onto Tattenham Court Road. Continue along this road for 1.2 miles until it bears left and goes under a railway bridge. Turn immediately left into Preston Lane.

Take the second left off Preston Lane into Waterfield. After about 0.2 miles you will see the Epsom Downs Metro Centre on your left. Portako is number 3 (Furlong House).
